Beautiful September

We're back to our blog! It's been a very busy year with two moves (and possibly a third!) to larger homes and adapting to life as man and wife.

It's already half way through September, one of the most beautiful months of the year in Bakersfield. Two special things about September - we've probably seen the last of 100+ weather temperatures, and it's the month for celebrating Emily and Megan's birthdays. They were both born on the morning of the 7th, 5 years apart. It's always a very special day of celebrating the lives of two precious daughters.

And in the words of the song by Neil Diamond, "September 'morn..."

It's been a busy holiday time since Thanksgiving — with very little time to breathe in between. God has blessed us and our families this year in many ways. Thanks to all of you for your love, well wishes, gifts, conversation and wonderful food and company during the last couple of months particularly.
It's New Year's eve and we're heading out soon to our 8:15 dinner reservation at the Hungry Hunter Restaurant, then to a late showing of "The Producers" at a nearby theatre. Those will be our New Year's Eve activities. A little low key perhaps, but I think we're both looking forward to the evening and spending time together for our first New Year as husband and wife .

Welcome to our blog!

We're glad you're here! This blog was created and presented as a Christmas gift to us by Jason Mills, our son-in-law. The Millses, who reside in Scotland, came home to the U.S. in November to attend our wedding and to see family and friends for the holidays. Susan and I are very grateful for this gift and are honored that the Millses were at our wedding.
